This Sunday the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois plays host to WWE Backlash. This is a WWE Smackdown Live! exclusive PPV, only on the WWE Network. Here is a preview for WWE Backlash 2017.

Randy Orton VS Jinder Mahal: WWE Championship

Jinder Mahal is main-eventing a WWE PPV, welcome to the land of opportunity. For the first time in his WWE career, Mahal shall challenge for the WWE Championship at WWE Backlash. He earned this opportunity after winning a number one contender’s bout a few weeks ago. However despite a very strong few weeks for Mahal, no title change is expected to take place. Therefore I am with Randy Orton to retain the WWE Championship, or maybe Smackdown is ready to swerve us once more?

Kevin Owens VS AJ Styles: WWE United States Championship

Easily the potential to be match of the night, myself and plenty of others look forward to this match. This now provides a bit more prestige and recognition for the WWE United States Championship, which it has lacked for some time now. Kevin Owens who was drafted to Smackdown last month, is already proving to be a hot commodity for the blue brand. As for AJ Styles, well he’s simply the best wrestler in the company right now. However for now, I am predicting KO to retain the US Championship, but this shall not be the end of this rivalry.

Shinsuke Nakamura VS Dolph Ziggler

Finally, Shinsuke Nakamura will have his first main roster match. The King of Strong Style goes up against Dolph Ziggler. While some may feel underwhelmed with this feud, it serves a beneficial purpose for Nakamura. This is because he shall need to find his feet on the main roster, thus filling him in the card against Ziggler is a strong start. One could almost consider this an impromptu bout for the PPV. None the less it is easy for me to call as Shinsuke Nakamura victory.

The Usos VS Breezango: WWE Smackdown Live! Tag Team Championships

STOP! FASHION POLICE! Growing in popularity week on week, Tyler Breeze and Fandango are simply awesome. Sharing the best segment in WWE right now, the duo are probably one of the most entertaining teams WWE have had for a while. On the other hand The Usos have been effective heels, as their turn has revitalized their careers, as they work as brilliant heels. While I would love to believe Breezango will walk out as champions, I just cannot see it happening. I am with The Usos retaining the WWE Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships.

Baron Corbin VS Sami Zayn

For me this is a match that is worth watching. Two of WWE’s strongest mid-carders are on a collision course. The Lone Wolf Baron Corbin continues to make strides, as he has endured a strong run this past year. On the other hand Sami Zayn gained a much needed move to Smackdown Live! It has provided Zayn the opportunity to restart his career, as he merits a much stronger position. As for this match, I believe that Sami Zayn shall pick up the win, hopefully the two renew their rivalry following this bout.

Prediction: Sami Zayn To Defeat Baron Corbin

Naomi, Charlotte & Becky Lynch VS Tamina, Carmella & Natalya

While I would have rather seen the WWE Smackdown Live! Women’s Championship being defended, this is what we have. A six women tag team match, as these two teams have been butting heads for the past few weeks. Majority of fans have been voicing their doubt over turning Charlotte face, as she is by far better off as a heel. None the less we shall see if any changes are made. I am with the team of Naomi, Charlotte and Becky Lynch winning this bout.

Eric Rowan VS Luke Harper

The former Wyatt Family brothers collide once again. Now with Bray Wyatt on RAW, these two can finally settle the score alone. Now with superstars pursuing single careers, one has to wonder if this shall be their final encounter, before sealing their own paths and fate. I believe Luke Harper shall best his former tag team partner.
