Why Tom Cruise? Watch Jack Reacher Featurette Lee Childs Defends Decision

Have you ever wondered why Tom Cruise was given the role of Jack Reacher? In a new featurette released by Paramount Pictures we hear from Author Lee Childs on why his popular book character 6 foot 5inches is been played by an actor who stands around 5foot 8inches. It’s a decision that has angered a lot of fans some are puzzled but hearing it from the horses mouth the creator  hopefully ease some of that confusion  and why Lee Childs gives the actor his seal of approval, “Reacher’s size in the books is a metaphor for an unstoppable force, which Cruise portrays in his own way.” Also in this video Childs talks about having his material adapted for the big screen. So what if  Tom Cruise didn’t get the part of Jack Reacher who would play him? its simple but tough question, he may lack the psychical height but you can’t get any bigger than Tom Cruise his stature and popularity exceeds his character’s height , studio’s want bums on seats in cinemas and Cruise can provide.
