‘We Live In A Third World Planet’… Watch New Elysium Featurette

They always say money is the route of all evil, most of all power and in Neil Blomkamp’s Elysium money & power is the key to a safer healthier life but everyone Earth is a Third world planet.

In this new featurette we hear from the director and the cast chatting about the world the film is set in and whatever they show to promote Elysium, the mention of Bloomkamp, Sci-fi in the same sentence is enough to get us buzzing about this film.It’s frightening to even think about it but the wealth split between the wealthy and working class is already happening like here in UK and many countries around the world which makes films like Elysium (Snowpiercer too) even more realistic.

Elysium is a post apocalyptic thriller is set in 2054, Earth is split into 2 classes, the wealthy live in the orbiting station paradise calledย Elysium.The majority of the population still live on the ย barren radiated land struggling fighting for what scrapes there is also the small matter that the radiation is killing the all too. Max (Matt Damon) is determined to leave this old life and get toย Elysiumย ย to get a cure but getting there is easy but getting in is the hard part , but for attempting he now has a bounty hunter (Sharlto Copely) tracking him down.

Elysiumย will be unleashed in UK&Ireland onย 23rd Augustย (USA 9th August)ย and the film also starsย Jodie Foster,William Fichtner,Diego Luna, Alice Braga,Diego Lunaย andย Faran Tahir.

Synopsis

In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined planet. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the crime and poverty that is now rampant throughout the land. The only man with the chance to bring equality to these worlds is Max (Matt Damon), an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission โ€“ one that pits him against Elysiumโ€™s Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces โ€“ but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.
