Watch UK Trailer For Mattie Do’s Ghostly The Long Walk
Lightbulb Film Distribution have released the UK Trailer for Laotian sci-fi horror indie The Long Walk.
The film made its world premiere at the 2019 Venice Film Festival, clocking up thousands of miles playing at genre festivals around the world including the Toronto International Film Festival, Fantastic Fest, Busan, Locarno and Sitges. Whilst gathering the air miles it also gained some fantastic reviews from the first and only female filmmaker Mattie Do working in the horror genre in Laos.
The Long Walk is Mattie Do’s third feature, and centres around an old man, who discovers that he can travel back in time and speak with the dead.
This is not a full on horror, subtle full of interesting ideas and potentially a few original.
An old scavenger (Yannawoutthi Chanthalungsy) living on the fringes of a near-future society exploits a ghostly companion’s ability to traverse time, hoping to prevent his mother’s suffering from a terminal illness. A deliberately paced story that burns with intensity and human emotion, The Long Walk is all at once a culturally rich ghost story, a grim near-future sci-fi, and mystery with life and death stakes that span decades.
The film stars Yannawoutthi Chanthalungsy, Noutnapha Soydara, Vilouna Phetmany, Chansamone Inoudom and Por Silatsa.
The Long Walk The film will be released on Digital Download platforms in the UK and Ireland from 28th February.
