Lightbulb Film Distribution have released the UK Trailer for indie horror My Heart Can’t Beat Unless You Tell It To. People will do anything to protect their family members, in Jonathan Cuartas’ debut feature will they still protect them if they might be a vampire?
The film follows siblings Dwight (Patrick Fugit) and Jessie (Ingrid Sophie Schram) who put all their energy into keeping their little brother Thomas (Owen Campbell) alive. But he craves human blood.
Following its world premiere at Tribeca last year, the film has played a string of genre festivals – including Nightstream, Sitges and São Paulo. The UK premiere took place at Celluloid Screams.
There’s a We Are What We Are vibe to this one and we like what we’re seeing here. If there was awards for unique names, this one will be up there!
Dwight (Patrick Fugit) and his sister Jessie (Ingrid Sophie Schram) reach a crossroads over what to do about their younger brother Thomas’ (Owen Campbell) mysterious illness. The increasingly dangerous task of keeping him alive weighs heavy on sensitive Dwight, and as a fiercely private and close-knit family unit, Thomas and Jessie depend on him and all the rituals they’ve learned in order to keep their secret. Dwight yearns for another life, but Jessie will stop at nothing to keep her family together.
