Watch UK Trailer For Dark Comedy Bad Behaviour Starring Jennifer Connelly

Actress Alice Englert is about to make her directorial feature debut (and star in) which is set for a December release. Icon Film Distribution have released the UK Trailer for dark comedy Bad Behaviour.

The film stars Jennifer Connelly as a former child actress embarking on spiritual retreat. After years of trauma but that retreat is anything but healing. The guru she seeks wisdom from is nothing but obsessed with Lucy!

Fresh, bracing and laced with dark humour, Bad Behaviour stars Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind, House of Sand and Fog), BAFTA winner Ben Whishaw (This Is Going to Hurt, A Very English Scandal) and Alice Englert (The Power of the Dog, Dangerous Liaisons), making her directorial debut.

Lucy (Connelly), a former child actress, seeks healing from the traumas of her life. She embarks on a spiritual retreat, only for it to become anything but healing: she’s easily annoyed by the other attendees and wants attention from the retreat’s new-age guru Elon Bello (Whishaw). Even worse, she has become destructively obsessed with the retreat’s celebrity guest, a model named Beverly (Dasha Nekrasova, Succession). As Beverly finds “enlightenment” easily, Lucy’s feelings of insecurity continue to rise to the surface.

During this time, Lucy also tries to connect with her stunt performer adult daughter, Dylan (Englert) who’s currently on set in New Zealand. Dylan’s falling into an obsession of her own: a bad romance with the main actor Elmore, whose insistence on doing his own stunts will have disastrous consequences. Brutal incidents in both women’s worlds force them back together to confront their personal demons and their own relationship.

Moving, poignant and deadpan funny, the film saw its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and establishes a bold new voice for filmmaker Alice Englert.

The film also stars Ben Wishaw, Ana Scotney, Dasha Nekrasova, Marlon Williams, Beulah Koale, and Karan Gill.

You can first catch Bad Behaviour on exclusively on the Icon Film Channel from 4th December. The film will also be released in selected UK cinemas from 5th January, then On Digital platforms from 5th February 2024.
