Studio Soho Distribution have released the UK Trailer for the acclaimed Israeli drama Here We Are from filmmaker Nir Bergman which will be heading to UK cinemas in July.
Taking inspiration from writer, Dana Idisis’s own family. This is a touching story of a father and his relationship with his grown-up autistic son, played by Shai Avivi and Noam Imber. The film screened as part of the Cannes Film Festival 2020 in Official Selection and was nominated for 10 Ophir Awards (Israel Oscars), winning in the categories of Best Director, Best Actor (Shai Avivi), Best Supporting Actor (Noam Imber) and Best Screenplay.
Studio Soho Distribution has a growing strong reputation for releasing films with important social messages, often based on real life stories, helping them to receive the attention they deserve. In 2020 they released Come As You Are, a true story about three young men with disabilities who hit the road on a quest to lose their virginity and immigration drama Undocument.
Aharon has devoted his life to raising his son Uri, where they live together in a gentle routine away from the real world. Uri is autistic and now as a young adult, it might be time for him to live in a specialised home. Aharon feels deep down that Uri is not ready for this separation, so on the way to the home, he decides to run away with his son and they hit the road. A journey that has unexpected consequences for Aharon and Uri’s quiet life together.
