Watch The ‘Wild’ UK Trailer for J-Horror Mag Mag
Blue Finch Films are bringing us another slice of J-Horror next month with Mag Mag, heck out the chilling UK Trailer.
The film is directed by comedian, artist and rapper Yurian Retriever. The film is her directorial feature which made it’s world premiere at Beyond Fest September last year. It also played the likes of FrightFest Halloween with the reviews have been leaning on the positive side despite the critics been divided. The film was also the debut for K2 Pictures which includes the likes of Hirokazu Kore-eda (Shoplifters), Takashi Miike (Audition) as it’s collaborators.
Mag Mag (Maga Maga Ona) is described as a feminist twist on the classic Japanese Horror tropes. Mixing it up with comedy, supernatural with homage to Miike, Sion Sono and The Grudge director Takashi Shimizu. We follow a young woman on a path of revenge after the death of her boyfriend. Searching for the Mag Mag Ghost, however she soon learns who may truly be the killer.
Mixing in a twisted love story with horror and urban legends, a recipe for a crazy film! The film stars Sara Minami, Takumi Saioto, and Aoi Yamada.
Synopsis | A chilling fusion of J-horror and supernatural obsession. Grief-stricken Sanae is hellbent on revenge after her beloved falls prey to the ghostly ‘Mag Mag’ in this supernatural J-horror. But revenge is never simple, and Sanae soon finds herself entangled into a world much darker than any ghost could conjure.
Blue Finch Film Releasing will be releasing Mag Mag digitally in the UK and Ireland on 19th October.
