When it comes to jobs there comes a time when we have to attend some sort of conference/ convention as part of the job. We all know 99.5% of them are very generic, boring  and you just dont want to be there. Now what if its a insurance convention plus your a cinvention virgin, its your first time and your boss gives you a list of do’s & donts but soon as you get there, throw them out the window. So where can this place be? CEDAR RAPIDS!

Fox Searchlight have sent us the new UK trailer for the Miguel Arteta (Youth In Revolt) indie comedy which stars The Hangover’s Ed Helms as that first time Insurance convention attendee who comes under the guidance of 3 veterens of the conventions (John C. Reilly, Anne Heche and Isiah Whitlock Jr.) showing him the ropes and pushing him to the boundaries. When we mean to the max, he ends up in fights with everyone, getting drunk, getting caught in awkward moments, befriending hookers who smell only of cigerettes! So what reward does he get? Peanuts! But no ordinary peanuts but 2 Bags of Airline peanuts!!!

The movie came out about 4 weeks ago in USA and did receive plenty of very good reviews, some expected a Hallpass style comedy were surprise to see CEDAR RAPIDS was more tastefull and more on line with Cyrus style comedy and thats good enough reason for us at The Peoples Movies!

CEDAR RAPIDS stars Ed Helms, John C. Reilly, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Anne Heche, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Root, Kurtwood Smith, Alia Shawkat, Mike O’Malley, Rob Corddry with the movie coming out April 29th.

To call insurance agent Tim Lippe (Ed Helms), “naïve” is a gross understatement. He’s never left his small hometown. He’s never stayed at a hotel. And he’s never experienced anything like Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Sent to represent his company at the annual insurance convention, Tim is soon distracted by three convention veterans (John C. Reilly, Anne Heche and Isiah Whitlock Jr.) who will show him the ropes and push his boundaries. For a guy who plays everything by the book, this convention will be anything but conventional.
