Watch The Poetic UK Trailer For Jacques Audiard’s Paris 13th District

Paris 13th District (2021)

After making his English language debut with The Sisters Brothers a few years ago, French filmmaker Jacques Audiard has returned to his native language with his latest film Paris, 13th District. Today Curzon have released the film’s poetic UK Trailer teasing love, life, identity and fidelity.

The film made it’s world premiere at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. Co-written by Celine Sciamma and starring Portrait of a Lady on Fireโ€˜s Noรฉmie Merlant,ย alongside Lucie Zhang, Makita Samba. Set on the left bank of the French capital, the film is a modern story of love and life, reflecting the shifting attitudes towards identity and fidelity.

The film is named after the densely populated area of Paris which many of immigrant population live.ย  This one we follow the lives of three different people whose stories are interwoven, sometimes friends, other times lovers. This is an adaptation of Adrian Tomineโ€™s graphic novel Killing and Dying. Filmed in Black and white that seems to capture the grittiness of the story and location. Here’s hoping the film captures our hearts too!

Set in the French capitalโ€™s 13th arrondissement, on the left bank of the Seine, Audiardโ€™s film charts the interwoven relationships between four twenty-somethings, played by Lucie Zhang, Makita Samba, Savages lead singer Jehnny Beth and Noรฉmie Merlant, who played the artist in Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Capturing a very different Paris to the one that appeared in his previous films, which were dominated by the cityโ€™s underworld, PARIS, 13TH DISTRICT is a modern story of love and life, reflecting the shifting attitudes towards identity and fidelity.

The film also stars Jehnny Beth, Camille Lรฉon-Fucien, Oceane Cairaty, and Anaรฏde Rozam.

Paris, 13th District will be released in UK and Irish cinema along with Curzon Home Cinema from 18th March. There will also be previews on Valentine’s Day 14th February.
