Making History will never be the same again. After it’s successful film festival run in 2022, Signature Entertainment release the innovative UK Trailer for Lola.

Those fortunate to be at Edinburgh Film Festival or FrightFest last year you would have seen this film.ย  Andrew Legge‘s indie sci-fi has given time travel a refreshing twist when sisters go ‘punk rock’ before punk rock was invented. It’s finally great to see the film that created such a buzz will soon be released theatrically.

It’s 1941, Thomasina and Martha Hanbury (Emma Appleton and Stefanie Martini) are sisters who love music. They build a machine a machine called LOLA that intercepts TV broadcasts. They first use to to enjoy music from the 1970’s especially David Bowie only to realise they have something that could change World War to defeat the Nazi’s. However will the power get to their heads with altering time to come with consequences?

In 1941, music-loving sisters Thomasina (Emma Appleton,ย Everything I Know About Love) and Martha (Stefanie Martini,ย Prime Suspect 1973)ย  build a machine called LOLA which can intercept broadcasts from the future. While the sisters initially use the machine for small ventures like becoming the first fans of 1970s music, they soon realise that it may hold the key to defeating the Nazis. LOLA proves to be massively effective in shifting the tide of the war, but as Thomasina begins to become carried away with the level of power the machine holds over the future, the sisters soon discover the world-altering consequences of their actions. Featuring original music byย Neil Hannonย of The Divine Comedy and shot on 16mm and 35mm film stock,ย LOLAย is directed byย Andrew Leggeย from a script he co-wrote withย Angeli Macfarlaneย (Death of a President) with 16 and 35mm photography byย Oona Menges.

LOLAย also starsย Rory Fleck Byrneย (This Is Going to Hurt),ย Aaron Monaghanย (Assassinโ€™s Creed), andย Hugh Oโ€™Conorย (Chocolat). The film will beย  released in UK and Irish cinemas from 7th April.
