Watch The Creepy Trailer For Dave Franco’s The Rental

The Rental (2020)

A Getaway from hell as Dave Franco‘s directorial feature debut The Rental unearths it’s Official U.S Trailer. Been someone who used to be a Travel Agent I know the power of a holiday. Sometimes some great offers are too good to be true for Alison Bree and Dan Stevens can’t see the red lights.

The film tells the story of two couples, who head off for a weekend break by the sea. The home they rent for the duration looks too perfect and what was mean’t to be celebratory turns sinister.

If your going to direct a horror film, what better director/actor Joe Swanberg write your script. Swanberg directed Franco in his Netflix series Easy but has directed/produced or even starred in the likes of V/H/S, The Sacrament, You’re Next and Silver Bullets.  The trailer does suggest Franco has the grasp of the genre , but does this trailer reveal a little too much?

Two couples on an oceanside getaway grow suspicious that the host of their seemingly perfect rental house may be spying on them. Before long, what should have been a celebratory weekend trip turns into something far more sinister, as well-kept secrets are exposed and the four old friends come to see each other in a whole new light. Alison Brie, Dan Stevens, Jeremy Allen White, and Sheila Vand star in this unnerving and sophisticated debut thriller from Dave Franco (NEIGHBORS, IF BEALE STREET COULD TALK, THE DISASTER ARTIST).

Starring Dan Stevens, Alison Brie, Sheila Vand, and Jeremy Allen White, with Toby Huss.

The Rental doesn’t have a UK or Irish distributor or release date announced yet. If you are in the USA, you can catch this one on a limited cinema release and VOD from 24th July.
