When it comes to films of an  epic scale Christopher Nolan has to be one of the best in the industry and in the small hours of the morning Dunkirk unveiled it’s first teaser.
Running at only 57 seconds Warner Bros. have sent us Nolan’s monumental World War 2 Teaser trailer or ‘Announcement’ UK Trailer . A teaser that delivers the tension, chills, fear that mimics the heartbeat of the young soldiers who find themselves deep in the heart of one of history’s greatest battles.
Check out the trailer…
The trailer is minimal but gives a gritty feel to the film, as war is ‘dirty’, you really get a real sense of the open spaces and vastness of the location. All largely thanks to the superb cinematography of Hoyte van Hoytema. Hans Zimmer‘s score really plays into the strain uneasiness the soldiers faced with the sound of the German bombers incoming the dread on the soldiers faces says it all. Danger from all angles, history foretells many didn’t even make it to land.
Dunkirk opens as hundreds of thousands of British and Allied troops are surrounded by enemy forces. Trapped on the beach with their backs to the sea they face an impossible situation as the enemy closes in. A real eerie feel to everything especially when you seen fallen comrades lying in the sands which showed they where trapped.
Some call it the largest event in our history when it comes to scale of it, it was a true battle of survival. Operation Dynamo saw 300,000 plus British and allied troops saved in what some call ‘the miracle of Dunkirk’.
Dunkirk is certainly going to be one of the biggest films of 2017 and as ever filmed for IMAX and on 65mm you will feel you will be trapped too. Grand cast which includes Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, James D’Arcy, Jack Lowden and Fionn Whitehead.Yes folks, Harry Styles of one direction is in this too, what he’s like we don’t know yet but one thing at least Mr Nolan has forced Harry to get a proper haircut!
Dunkirk is set for a 21st July 2017 UK&Irish release date.
