Watch The Awesome An Oral History of ‘The Green Knight Featurette

David Lowery’s The Green Knight starring Dev Patel was fast becoming the forgotten film of Covid. Thankfully Entertainment Films (EFD) released the film’s UK Trailer to remind us the film is still around and legends never die.

But who is the Green Knight?  There’s a rather awesome new 3 minute Featurette called ‘An Oral History of ‘The Green Knight‘ which hopes to answer that question. The fantasy epic all we know is inspired by Arthurian folklore and the story between Sir Gawain (Patel) and the Green Knight. This new promo is narrated the hypnotic voice of Ralph Ineson and you might think this may ride into spoiler territory, it doesn’t. Who exactly is The Green Knight is you’ll have to wait until the film. It does reminds us those medieval stories are all about honour in the darkest and stressful times…

An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table.

The film also stars Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Barry Keoghan and Ralph Ineson.

Entertainment Films are still saying UK and Irish cinema release will be . If you live in the USA, A24 will release The Green Knight from 30th July.
