Like James Gandolfini’s tragic death, no one expected Phillip Seymour Hoffman a talent that will solely missed, this September we will watch his final film A Most Wanted Man, now watch first tense UK trailer.

Entertainment One have sent us the first trailer which is based on John La Carre‘s seminal 2008 novel A Most Wanted Man and on first impressions if you enjoyed Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, this film should go down well.

Set in modern day Hamburg when a young illegal Chechen immigrant arrives in the city seeking a privately held fortune who draws the attention of German intelligence Agent Gunter Bachmann ( Hoffman). But who is this Chechen man? Is he an innocent man seeking genuine asylum? A thief or a terrorist? Civil rights lawyer (Rachel McAdams) is however determined to prove his innocence and protect his rights ย Bachmann is on her case out to prove he is the man he’s looking for but what dangers will he unravel?

A Most Wanted Man has ย created a nice little buzz from it’s early festival previews, a slow burner but what else do you expect from a John La Carre adapted novel? Anton Corbijn looks to have created an absorbing ย smart film that will make us sadly miss the great talent we knew and love, Phillip Seymour Hoffman ย who looked to have delivered another fine performance.

Fantastic supporting cast of Willem Dafoe, Robin Wright andย Daniel Brรผhl with A Most Wanted Man arriving in UK cinemas on 5th September.

Synopsis

Present day Hamburg: a tortured and near-dead half-Chechen, half-Russianย manย on the run arrives in the cityโ€™s Islamic community desperate for help and looking to recover his late Russian fatherโ€™s ill-gotten fortune. Nothing about him seems to add up; is he a victim, thief or, worse still, an extremist intent on destruction? Drawn into this web of intrigue is a British banker and a young female lawyer, determined to defend the defenceless. All the while, they are being watched by the brilliant, roguish chief of a covert German spy unit, who fights to put the pieces together as the clock ticks.
