George Michael Freedom Uncut (2022)

Today 27th April tickets for George Michael: Freedom Uncut documentary will go on sale. To tease fans of the former Wham frontman, Trafalgar Releasing have unearthed the official Trailer.

We originally watched the original film back in 2018 at Edinburgh Film Festival. Andrew McArthur watched the film giving it a 4 star review calling “Freedomย is a celebration at its foremost and pays fitting tribute to the man that was adored by millions.”

This ‘new version’ promises to go further with a big focus and Michael’s formative years…

The doc promises to focuses on the formative period in former Whamย frontmanโ€™sย  life and career, leading up to and following the making of his acclaimed, best-selling album โ€œListen Without Prejudice Vol. 1โ€ and his subsequent, infamous High Court battle with his record label that followed, while also becoming poignantly personal about the death of his first love,ย Anselmo Feleppa. Filmed before Michaelโ€™s untimely passing, the documentary is narrated by the singer, who was heavily involved in the making of the film that serves as his final work.

The film featuresย Georgeโ€™s incredible, unseen archival and private home-footage, giving viewers a first-person account of this dramatic period in his life, revealing how he became one of the most influential recording artists of all time, who alone fought a corner for all artists by challenging the standard recording contract helping to rewrite the rules of the music industry. He talks about why he stepped out of the lime light and turned his back on celebrity.
