The sun-kissed shores of the southern coast of Italy play host to the romantic comedy as Love Is All You Need arrives, full of languid charm, on Blu-ray and DVD this Monday and we have 2 clips to celebrate the upcoming release.
Love Is All you Need stars Trine Dyrholm (A Royal Affair)  as Ida  who is in the mood to celebrate her daughter’s upcoming wedding after recovering from cancer . After arriving home to find her husband with a younger woman her word tumbles down around her. She heads to beautiful Sorrento for the wedding,determined to put on a brave face and refuses to let even the initially brusque manner of the groom’s father, Philip, (Pierce Brosnan) put her off. But as the wedding celebrations gather pace, all involved – including the supposedly happy couple – are faced with the realisation that the spirit of Italy is offering them the chance of a new beginning – one that Ida and Philip ultimately grasp with both hands.
This film brings back loving great memories of when I lived in Sorrento (2006-2007) which is a wonderful place. Love is all you need looks an utterly charming film and the myth of Sorrento that it changes life for those who visit the Italian town, this film even made the number one spot in Mark Kermode’s top 5 films of 2013, so you know it’s a film with quality!
