Watch Me and Earl and the Dying Girl International Trailer
2015 has been a big year so for the site in film festivals and one of Sundance hit films this Autumn will arrive in UK when Me and Earl and the Dying Girl Arrives. The film has been exciting American critics since it’s premiere and this autumn our hearts will break but you’ll smile same time, watch international trailer.
Me And Earl And The Dying Girl is a uniquely funny and moving story about Greg, a high school senior who avoids deep human relationships as a way to safely navigate the social mine field that is teenage life. In fact he describes his best friend Earl, with whom he makes short-film parodies of classic movies, as being ‘more like a co-worker’. But when Greg’s mum insists he spends time with Rachel – a girl in his class who has just been diagnosed with cancer- Greg discovers just how powerful and important true friendship can be.
This will be a film many will refer to as ‘New…’ or ‘Similar to…’, unfortunately some films can’t escape but that’s not always a negative. Winner of the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival means this has a lot going for it so expectations will be high. One grudge I have is sometime my fellow film writers have a habit sometimes ‘milking’ a film to a point it looses all its element of goodness and surprise. However it seems it’s living up to its expectations and genuinely good film on our hands.
This trailer delivers the sharp funny side we can expect along with glimpse of the emotion of having cancer as wittiness is best cure to escape your troubles. The Fault In Your Stars will be the film many will connect Me And Earl And The Dying Girl too but this has more indie cred, pop-culture symbolism may appeal to bigger audience.
The film stars Thomas Mann, Olivia Cook, R.J. Cyler with Nick Offerman, Molly Shannon, Jon Bernthal and Connie Britton. The film arrives in UK cinemas 9th September.
