Liam Neeson has certainly became the senior king of action thrillers the last 15 or so years. He’s taken on those who kidnapped his daughter, released the Kraken. Survived plane crashes and took on wolves, even took revenge in a snow plough. For his latest thriller you better wrap up warm as Amazon release the UK Trailer for The Ice Road! As he leads a team of ice road truckers on a mission!
Directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, is no stranger to the action genre as he was involved in scripts for the likes of Die Hard with a Vengeance and Armageddon. Also executive producer for Con-Air, in this one we find ourselves furthest regions of Northern Canada. Neeson plays an veteran ice road truck driver who drives dangerous grounds (including frozen ocean) to rescue trapped miners. Only to discover another threat they never expected.
When it comes Neeson films there like marmite, many will love them others won’t. The trailer does cram a lot of action in, if your a Neeson fan you don’t care, just care about “when is it released?”
After a remote diamond mine collapses in far northern Canada, a ‘big-rig’ ice road driver (Neeson) must lead an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the trapped miners. Contending with thawing waters and a massive storm, they discover the real threat is one they never saw coming.
The film’s cast also includes Benjamin Walker, Amber Midthunder, Marcus Thomas, and Laurence Fishburne.
The Ice Road will be released in the UK and Ireland on Amazon Prime Video from 25th June. To confuse everyone if you live in USA and Canada you can see the film on Netflix also from 25th June.
