Watch I Am Greta UK Trailer ‘A Force Of Nature’

I Am Greta (2020)

How many times have we heard “the children are the future“, some “youngsters will save the world”. There’s one young lady who knows that action must be now, Greta Thunberg. Dogwoof have released the official UK trailer and poster for the highly anticipated documentary about teenage climate activist and global icon, I Am Greta.

It’s an amazing feat that a 15 year old girl from Sweden , to slowly  open the eyes of the world, to climate change. Off course you won’t convince everyone especially the denier in The White House.  Those 2018 strikes kicked off an global movement, not just in young people, but people of all ages.

Earlier this month the film made it’s world premiere at Venice Film Festival, next month you can watch that film yourself. The story behind that movement and the face behind it and maybe there’s hope our planet will last for generations to come.

In August of 2018, Greta Thunberg, a 15-year-old student from Sweden, starts a school strike for the climate. Her question for adults is this: if you don’t care about her future on this planet, why should she care about her future in school? Within months, her strike evolves into a global movement, as schoolchildren from across the world join the #FridaysForFuture strikes and march to demand politicians start taking serious steps to tackle climate change. Greta, a shy schoolgirl with Asperger’s, is suddenly thrust onto the world stage as the voice of the next generation.

Greta’s story is told through compelling, never-before-seen footage in this intimate documentary from Swedish environmental filmmaker Nathan Grossman and producers Cecilia Nessen (prod. Bergman: A Year in the Life) and Fredrik Heinig (prod. Bergman: A Year in the Life, Midsommar). Starting with her one-person school strike for climate justice outside the Swedish Parliament, Grossman follows Greta in her rise to prominence, and her galvanizing global impact as she sparks school strikes around the world. The film culminates with her astonishing wind powered voyage across the Atlantic Ocean to speak at the UN Climate Action Summit in New York City, where she delivers an impassioned speech to politicians that reverberates across the world.

I Am Greta will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on 16th October 2020.
