Watch First UK Trailer For John Madden’s Operation Mincemeat
Extraordinary World War Two True Story finally getting it’s big screen adaptation
We may have think we’ve seen or even read about all those amazing World War II battles, think again. This January John Madden‘s epic war drama Operation Mincemeat starring Colin Firth. Warner Bros today release the Official First UK Trailer for the film that saw the allies trick Hitler in a pivotal part of World War II.
In this one we find ourselves in 1943, the allies are targeting for that moment to penetrate the Nazi’s in Europe. An operation by the British intelligence to release disinformation to thwart the Nazis, risking the lives of thousands of soldiers.
War film fans this, looks like will tick all the boxes for a must see…
It’s 1943. The Allies are determined to break Hitler’s grip on occupied Europe, and plan an all-out assault on Sicily; but they face an impossible challenge – how to protect a massive invasion force from potential massacre. It falls to two remarkable intelligence officers, Ewen Montagu (Colin Firth) and Charles Cholmondeley (Matthew Macfadyen) to dream the most inspired and improbable disinformation strategy of the war – centred on the most unlikely of secret agents: a dead man. Operation Mincemeat is the extraordinary and true story of an idea that hoped to alter the course of the war – defying logic, risking countless thousands of lives, and testing the nerves of its creators to breaking point.
The film also stars Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald, Penelope Wilton, ‘Hello To’ Jason Isaacs, Johnny Flynn, Simon Russell Beale, Mark Gatiss.
Warner Bros haven’t yet stated an exact release date for Operation Mincemeat. It will be January 2022 in UK and Irish Cinemas.
