Watch First Promo For Ryan Gosling’s Lost River
With his directorial debut world premiere coming up at Cannes Film Festival shortly, tonight we get our first glimpse at Ryan Gosling‘s Lost River in the shape of a Promo clip.
It might be more than 3 years since the neo-noir Drive but the interest in Gosling hasn’t weltered if anything it’s increased largely thanks to the actor trying out his talents behind the camera too.
Formerly called To Catch A Monster , Lost River is an dark fantasy tale centre’s around a single mother of two sons (Christina Hendricks) who finds herself drawn into a fantasy underworld. At the same time her son (Iain De Caestecker) treks a mysterious road which leads to a underwater town.
If there’s any actor you can say has listened to their peers with fine comb it’s Ryan Gosling as this film has visually got the feel maybe at times a tone that lies nicely between Derek Cianfrance and Nicholas Winding Refn.This looks an idiosyncratic piece of work visually nightmarish minimalist dialogue delivers a haunting sense of dread. To be honest you don’t get a true feel of what this one’s all about.We however have a big interest to see this one!
Lost River doesn’t have a UK release date yet but if your fortunate to be in Cannes it will make it’s world premier at the festival during the Un Certain Regard strand. The film also co-stars Ben Mendelsohn, Eva Mendes, Saoirse Ronan and Matt Smith.
