Watch Downton Abbey: A New Era Behind The Lens First Episode

In less than two weeks Downton Abbey: A New Era will be released in cinemas, so the countdown is now in it’s final hurdle. Universal Pictures has a new digital series to get us into up to scratch , below you can watch the first episode

Clara Amfo presents Downton Abbey: Behind The Lens, a four-part digital series featuring interviews with cast, filmmakers and HODs, delving into the secrets behind the filming of Downton Abbey: A New Era. The digital series will release throughout  rest of April, taking us through the behind-the-scenes journey ahead of the cinematic return.

We’ll do our bests to bring you the other three episodes when they arrive. Below is the first one which looks at the story so far…

From award-winning creator Julian Fellowes comes the motion picture event DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA. The much-anticipated cinematic return of the global phenomenon reunites the beloved cast as they go on a grand journey to the South of France to uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa.

The original cast returning are Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Robert James-Collier, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Maggie Smith, David Haig, Imelda Staunton, Penelope Wilton, and Lesley Nicol. Keeping up with the ‘New Era’ part of this film there will be a number of new faces and they are Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West. Simon Curtis (Goodbye Christopher Robins) directs.

Downton Abbey: A New Era will be in UK and Irish cinemas  from  29th April.
