The boy wizard has grown up now, got his grades and has moved onto pastures new into the gothic world of Poe-esque horror with The Woman In Black. Do you know it is actually refreshing to see a film been made that is classical in the sense of horror, a classic ghost story is how the horror genre was created from then came the golden age monsters of werewolf, Dracula, Frankenstein leading into the cgi heavy creatures of todays cinema.The Woman In Black is from the era when scares, jumps, bumps and plenty of soiled trouser moments entertained the masses, its dramatic, characters with meaning (even the ghosts!) compared to the cgi monsters whom we dont sometimes ask were did they come from and why there attacking?
Daniel Radcliffe plays young lawyer Arthur Kipps who heads to the estate of a recently deceased client to sort out the paperwork As he works alone in the client’s isolated house, Kipps begins to uncover tragic secrets, his unease growing when he glimpses a mysterious woman dressed only in black. Receiving only silence from the locals, Kipps is forced to uncover the true identity of the Woman in Black on his own, leading to a desperate race against time when he discovers her true intent.
This movie certainly shows Daniel Radcliffe is moving on, and you maybe saying “oh Ive seen the play its scary cant wait to see this”, Yes we can’t wait either however the movie version is not based on the play its based on the book of the same name. The Woman In Black also stars Ciaran Hinds, Liz White, Janet McTeer, Alisa Khazanova, Tim McMullan, Roger Allam, Daniel Cerqueira, Shaun Dooley, Mary Stockley, Cathy Sara, David Burke, Victor McGuire and Lucy May Barker.
The movie wont be with us for a while yet so expect more trailers before February 3rd 2012 when the UK & Ireland gets spooked!

THE WOMAN IN BLACK also stars Ciaran Hinds (TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY) and Janet McTeer (TUMBLEWEEDS), was adapted from Susan Hill’s novel for the screen by Jane Goldman (KICK ASS) and directed by James Watkins (EDEN LAKE).
