Watch Bafta Nominated Sister Midnight UK Trailer

Altitude Films have released the UK Trailer for BAFTA nominated dark comedy Sister Midnight.
The film marks the directorial feature debut for Indian filmmaker Karan Kandhari. The film has been making big strides critically since it’s debut at last year’s Directors’ Fortnight at Cannes. Next month it’s set to make it’s UK cinematic debut, we get a perfect look at what we can expect.
Sister Midnight follows a young couple in Mumbai who find themselves in an arranged marriage. Everything feels awkward and despite the nuptials both feel lonely who are surrounded by nosy neighbours. Uma is a little more unpredictable with no domestic skills who tries everything to adapt but her bumbling husband pushing her to face her own decisions.
Darkly comedic, possibly clever film that looks to question social issues in India, what do you think? There is a eclectic soundtrack includes Howling Wolf, Buddy Holly, The Band, Motorhead, T. Rex, Blind Willie Johnson, The Stooges and new music from Interpol’s Paul Banks.
A newly arranged marriage. An oddball couple shoved together in a small Mumbai shack with paper-thin walls. They are awkward and alone-together. Unpredictable Uma does her best to cope with the heat, her total lack of domestic skills, nosy neighbours and her bumbling spouse until the nocturnal world of the city and its inhabitants lead her to face her own strange behaviours.
The film stars Radhika Apte, with Ashok Pathak, Chhaya Kadam, and Smita Tambe. Sister Midnight will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 14th March.
