Paolo Sorrentino’s THIS MUST BE THE PLACE Australian trailer has been released online today. The film stars Sean Penn doing his damn best to look like Robert Smith of The Cure playing a wealthy retired rockstar who decides to hunt down the nazi who executed his father during World War 2 who happens to be a refugee in USA.It’s a film which we’ve not heard much about it has been doing the rounds at the festivals including last month’s London Film Festival receiving very mixed reviews leaving not just the critics but also the leaving the film fans baffle, confused. I know this is part comedy however Sean Penn playing Ageing Goth rocker with a simpleton type accent to take him seriously and a Oscar contender as the actor aims for per film is very debatable.Have a look see what you think.

This Must Be The Place now has a UK&Irish release date which is March 30th, 2012 and also stars Frances McDormand, Judd Hirsch, Harry Dean Stanton, Kerry Condon, Shea Whigham, Joyce Van Patten, Eve Hewson, David Byrne

Cheyenne, a wealthy former rock star (Penn), now bored and jaded in his retirement embarks on a quest to find his fatherโ€™s persecutor, an ex-Nazi war criminal now hiding out in the U.S. Learning his father is close to death, he travels to New York in the hope of being reconciled with him during his final hours, only to arrive too late. Having been estranged for over 30 years, it is only now in death that he learns the true extent of his fatherโ€™s humiliation in Auschwitz at the hands of former SS Officer Aloise Muller โ€“ an event he is determined to avenge. So begins a life-altering journey across the heartland of America to track down and confront his fatherโ€™s nemesis.
