Watch A Fitting The Lord Of The Rings 20 Years Tribute Video

Lord Of The Rings

Is it really 20 years?!!! The past few weeks a lot of focus has been on 20th anniversary celebrations for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It’s not the only big franchise that’s celebrating the same anniversary, The Lord Of The Rings is too.

On 19th December 2001, Peter Jackson achieved what was called the impossible when his Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship Of The Ring was released. Regardless of your views on the franchise, it changed cinema and even got myself reading books again. It also changed film editor Joel Walden‘s life, inspiring him to go into working in film and his passion 2 decades later hasn’t disappeared.

Putting together his passion for film, love for the Lord Of The Rings and created a wonderful video. A near 5 minute video called, The Lord Of The Rings: 20 Years, a fitting and gorgeous tribute to the franchise.

Virtually most cinephiles will have their yearly traditions when they may watch certain films on certain days. Either be it seasonal or a reason that’s more personal, nothing wrong with that I have several films. I’ll gladly say The Lord Of The Rings films are one of them and they probably help establish my love in film. Technology may have drastically improved since the film, making the films look a little dated in VFX, still steps ahead.

I found the above video all thanks to ‘other tribute’ to LOTR, the funny one on U.S Late Show with Stephen Colbert. A fun musical tribute called The #1 Trilly rapping with Stephen some very familiar faces. Cast members Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Hugo Weaving, Andy Serkis, Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen. Also joining them Method Man, Killer Mike, Anna Kendrick and Jon Batiste.
