The War On Humanity Begins In War For The Planet Of The Apes First Trailer

Very few rebooted classic franchises have delivered the goods second time around, though The Planet Of The Apes has been one exception. Next Summer the Simian army will return for a third instalment, War For The Planet Of The Apes and 20th Century Fox Pictures have unveiled the first UK Trailer. As the title of the new movie suggests Ape Versus Man confrontation has finally become a war.

War is cruel no matter what side of the fence you may be on and if we’re to go by the recent comments by Caesar himself Andy Serkis, this will be the darkest, brutal entry of all the movies.

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar (Serkis)and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel(Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

This trailer sets up the tone of the movie, with no alternative but war with a real sense of apprehension. It’s a fight for survival though Caesar’s pacifism is still raising it’s head, it’s a battle of wits between Caesar and The Colonel. Who is that child that the apes recuse and rides with them at one point, does he have a connection with Colonel apart from been human? His son? A trap? Whoever he is, it forces him to lay down everything. It’s great to see Harrelson get a lead role instead of the secondary or comedic role, his versatility is second to none.

War For The Planet Of The Apes is looking epic, visually impressive and the movie is set for a July 2017 (possibly 14th).Co-starring Judy Greer, Karin Konoval and Terry Notary,Steve Zahn ,Toby Kebbell and is directed by Matt Reeves.
