You Want The Hammer?! Then Watch The UK Trailer For Comedy Ride Along

The first question is on your mind is, ‘Kevin who?’ Kevin Hart may not be as known as much in UK as he is Stateside, but on the week the film hits the top of U.S Box Office charts the film’s UK trailer arrives online without much notice.

Ride Along stars Hart as a fast talking security guard Ben who wants to prove his love to his girlfriend Angela (Tika Sumpter) and get the blessing from her hot tempered brother James (Ice Cube). To prove he’s worthy of James blessing Ben must Ride Along with James on a 24 hour patrol of Atlanta.

Unless you known the stand up work and other films of Kevin Hart, Ride Along may just be that film that ‘rides along’ into the sunset without even making an impact. The film probably only getting a UK cinematic run due to the fact it stars Ice Cube who is well known here in UK but take him out of the equation this film will be like the Tyler Perry Madea films non existent. Despite the success at the American box office the film has only gained 15% Rotten Tomatoes gives you an indication how good or bad this is but if you enjoy Buddy cop movies Ride Along may deliver some satisfaction .

Ride Along arrives in UK cinemas from ~~7th March~~ co-starring John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill and Laurence Fishburne.

Synopsis

Kevin Hart and Ice Cube lead the lineup in Ride Along, the new film from the director and the producer of the blockbuster comedy Think Like a Man. When a fast-talking guy joins his girlfriend’s brother—a hot-tempered cop—to patrol the streets of Atlanta, he gets entangled in the officer’s latest case. Now, in order to prove that he deserves his future bride, he must survive the most insane 24 hours of his life.

For the past two years, high-school security guard Ben (Hart) has been trying to show decorated APD detective James (Cube) that he’s more than just a video-game junkie who’s unworthy of James’ sister, Angela (Tika Sumpter). When Ben finally gets accepted into the academy, he thinks he’s earned the seasoned policeman’s respect and asks for his blessing to marry Angela.

Knowing that a ride along will demonstrate if Ben has what it takes to take care of his sister, James invites him on a shift designed to scare the hell out of the trainee. But when the wild night leads them to the most notorious criminal in the city, James will find that his new partner’s rapid-fire mouth is just as dangerous as the bullets speeding at it.

John Leguizamo and Laurence Fishburne join the cast of the action-comedy directed by Tim Story. Ride Along is produced by Will Packer (Think Like a Man), alongside Ice Cube, Matt Alvarez (Barbershop) and Larry Brezner (Good Morning, Vietnam).

[Update 21st January 2014]Universal Pictures have sent us over the film’s official poster and told us Ride Along official UK release date is now 28th February instead of 7th March.
