Do you feel the force?! In just over 2 months time we will head back to that galaxy far far away when the first Star Wars spin-off movie Rogue One:A Star Wars Story arrives. Today Disney have unveiled one final UK trailer and it’s a figure of beauty and we learn our hero Jyn might just have a personal connection with the creator of her missions target…
After passing last year’s Episode 7 test with Star Wars: The Force Awakens with flying colours, this December this test will be on again to see if George Lucas sci-fi universe can truly be expanded with the same success. It’s our first look at Jyn Urso father played by Mads Mikkelsen who just happens to be the man who created The Death Star!
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story tells the story of how a group of unlikely heroes led by Jyn (Felicity Jones) unite to undertake a daring and seemingly impossible mission to steal the plans for the Death Star.
The rebellion was built on hope and with this story set in the time period just before the event that took place in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. This new trailer certainly gives us a little more insight into the movie’s story and why Jyn was so important to the mission. The trailer does show many shots, weapons, and a certain Darth Vader keeps the connection with the original franchise but also stamps that this will be a totally different type of Star Wars movie.
We are optimistic this one deliver the goods, opening up the world outside the Skywalker family saga we grew up to love. It’s a wonderful trailer which I’m not scared to say Cinematography looks a little arty reminds me of Gareth Edwards Monsters. You really do get a feel for the locations as they feel real rather than mostly green screen, the opening scene of the trailer is very reminiscent of that iconic scene when we met Luke Skywalker. Gives you a sense of isolation, personal journey for Jyn’s father Galen Erso (Mikklesen), plus we meet Jyn as an young girl seeing the struggles her father had to put up with. With new revelations could this trailer play on the idea Jyn might be that ‘Double Agent’?
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to arrive in cinemas in UK, Ireland and USA on 15th December. Also starring Mads Mikkelson, Forrest Whitaker, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Jiang Wen, Riz Ahmed, Donnie Yen, Alan Tudyk.Â
