Tuner Strikes a Suspenseful Chord with Dustin Hoffman and Leo Woodall
Daniel Roher is fine-tuning the tension in Tuner, pairing Dustin Hoffman with rising star Leo Woodall, with the first UK trailer promising plenty of sharp turns as the story escalates in an unexpected direction.
The trailer begins innocently introducing an unlikely duo, Harry Horowitz (Dustin Hoffman) and Niki White (Leo Woodall), who run a piano-tuning business together. But Harry has a condition that makes him hypersensitive to sound, turning him into a pitch-perfect tuner – a skill that takes a darker turn when he realises it can also be used to crack safes
Harryโs unusual condition turns everyday sounds into high-stakes opportunities, and the film leans into this darkly inventive premise. With the use of sound and striking visuals, the trailer shows you the world through Harryโs eyesโฆ and ears, creating maximum tension. Itโs immediately clear that Tuner is a thriller that delights in its own twists, precision, and a touch of audacious fun.
Alongside Hoffman and Woodall, the film features an all-star supporting cast including Havana Rose Liu, Tovah Feldshuh, Lior Raz and Jean Reno, and is directed by Academy Award winner Daniel Roher. Having already screened at several festivals – including as the Surprise Film at last yearโs London Film Festival – Tuner has debuted to strong early reactions, with audiences taken on a tense and unpredictable journey.
Tuner releases in UK cinemas on the 29th May.
