I’m not going to say I’m an expert in Motherhood, it’s a rollercoaster of emotions many you’ll cherish many come as part of being a parent. The same could be said about Jason Reitman filmography June, Young Adult his highs, Labour Day, Men, Women& Children his lows. Later this year Tully Reitman reunites with Charlize Theron tackling the loves and tribulations of Motherhood.
In Young Adult, Theron plays a damaged teen fiction writer trying to rekindle her youth. In this one she plays Marlo an exhausted mother of three, struggling to survive. Her brother sees that struggle and hires a young nanny called Tully. Today Universal Pictures have sent us the movies first UK Trailer, check it out…
The first few moments the trailer we’re told ‘This is a story about Motherhood in 2018’. So we assume the mum who has to go out to work soon after birth? Or is it simply coping with modern days stress? Every generation of great women has struggled and survived. If anything it looks like a movie trying to empathize with what challenges they face today.
It certainly looks a character-centric story more in line with Juno and the trailer showcases Marlo’s exhausted daily life. A cry for help and possibly Tully will be that movie that lets mothers know, there’s no shame in asking for help. You’ll always be a great mother.
