Trailer Released For Children Of Blood And Bone

The highly anticipated trailer for Children of Blood and Bone, from the mind of Director Gina Prince-Bythewood, has just been released online.

The film is set in the epic fantasy world of Orïsha, where a young woman goes on a quest to reclaim the magic that was violently stolen from her people. She and her brother ally with the daughter and son of the king to fight back against his brutal rule. It features a stellar cast including Thuso Mbedu, Damson Idris, Amandla Stenberg, Tosin Cole, Cynthia Erivo, Lashana Lynch, Zackary Momoh, Richard Mofe-Damijo,  Chiwetel Ejiofor, Regina King, Idris Elba and Viola Davis. The film was shot in various locations across the African continent as they wanted to give the actors a real-life backdrop to adapt the novel with a grounded feel, even with magical elements.

The story is based on the novel by Tomi Adeyemi, which debuted at number one on The New York Times Best Seller list for young adult books. Adeyemi continued the series with The Children of Virtue and Vengeance in 2019 and concluded the trilogy with The Children of Anguish and Anarchy in 2024. Prince-Bythewood wrote the screenplay. The film is produced by Wyck Godfrey, John Fischer, Isaac Klausner, Karen Rosenfelt, Matt Jackson, with Jeff Waxman, Jennifer Madeloff, Tomi Adeyemi, Reggie Rock Bythewood, Marty Bowen, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, Andrew Lary, Sophie Cassidy, Zack Conroy executive producing. Tems announced as Executive Music Producer of the soundtrack with Burna Boy as the Executive Music Consultant.  

Children of Blood and Bone is releasing to cinemas in January 2027.
