After endless photos but nothing else the wait is now over Tim Burton’s DARK SHADOWS trailer has finally arrived!!! The past weeks have been really frustrating for Burton’s hardcore fanbase as they recently saw the director’s film after Dark Shadows Frankenweenie receive a trailer making people wonder “will a trailer actually arrive?” yesterday we got a break through and here we are the trailer!

It’s been no secret Tim Burton is a fanboy of the cult 1960’s tv series and it’s inspired Burton films to date and along with his best muccha  Johnny Depp (a fan himself) there dream has finally been achieved. What is slightly confusing (please correct if my wrong) I’m too young to be old enough to remember this series however talking to family, friends old enough to remember the show  or fans of the genre mysteriously never really heard of the series?! You can see Burton has tried to be as authentic to the original as possible so it does a have big soap opera feel to it, a little camp, funky, odd at times but does it come across as obsessive  project for Mr Burton & Mr Depp ? If you thought Depp was absurdly crazy in previous projects this one tops it all off! It does look like Burton’s earlier stuff, a fun film I’m sure Burton fans will enjoy, however its quite confusing to actually pinpoint the direction, very dysfunction but at the same time goofy fun !

Dark Shadows stars Johnny Depp (no extra points for guessing he’s in it), Mrs Tim Burton  Helena Boham Carter, Eva Green, Michelle Pfeiffer, Chloe Moretz, Gulliver McGrath, Bella Heathcote, and Jackie Earle Haley. The Munsters, Adams Family, sorry Dark Shadows will be out May 11 2012.

In the year 1752, Joshua and Naomi Collins, with young son Barnabas, set sail from Liverpool, England to start a new life in America. But even an ocean was not enough to escape the mysterious curse that has plagued their family. Two decades pass and Barnabas (Johnny Depp) has the world at his feet—or at least the town of Collinsport, Maine. The master of Collinwood Manor, Barnabas is rich, powerful and an inveterate playboy…until he makes the grave mistake of breaking the heart of Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green). A witch, in every sense of the word, Angelique dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire, and then burying him alive.

Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972. He returns to Collinwood Manor to find that his once-grand estate has fallen into ruin. The dysfunctional remnants of the Collins family have fared little better, each harboring their own dark secrets. Matriarch Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has called upon live-in psychiatrist, Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter), to help with her family troubles.
