First Look At Tim Burton Docuseries From Filmmaker Tara Wood

The first trailer for the upcoming docuseries charting the life and career of director Tim Burton has been released, with worldwide sales of the project currently underway.

From Variety: Filmmaker Tara Wood has completed her in-depth, four-part docuseries on the life and work of Tim Burton, the director of โ€œBatman,โ€ โ€ Beetlejuice,โ€ and โ€œEdward Scissorhands.โ€ The series marks the first time that Burton has supported a project about his career and includes exclusive interviews and unpublished artworks, as well as a never-before-seen stop-motion short film.ย ย The first episode in the docuseries premiered at last yearโ€™s Tribeca Film Festival as a sneak peek, earning strong reviews and buzz.ย 

Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Winona Ryder, Michael Keaton, Jenna Ortega, Danny Elfman, Danny DeVito, Christoph Waltz, Christopher Walken,โ€ฏMia Wasikowska all take part in the docuseries, giving their thoughts and experience working for Burton over the years, and shows an i-depth look at Burton’sย semi-autobiographical characters and films, and his countlessโ€ฏartworks of similar nature.

โ€œFollowing the incredible response to Episode 1 at Tribeca and the fansโ€™ voracious desire for more, Iโ€™m thrilled to announce the completion of the long-awaited Tim Burton docuseries!โ€ said Wood. โ€œTim tells his life story through his filmography, and the doc takes us on a truly inspiring journey through decades of cinematic history, filled with deep personal insights, passions, and struggles โ€” the challenge is keeping it to four episodes!โ€

Wood previously directed โ€œQT8: The First Eight,โ€ about the work of โ€œPulp Fictionโ€ and โ€œKill Billโ€ writer and director Quentin Tarantino, and co-directed, โ€œ21 Years: Richard Linklater,โ€ covering the โ€œDazed and Confusedโ€ filmmakerโ€™s work.
