Tim Allen has officially completed his voice work for Toy Story 5, marking the moment with an emotional message to fans. The actor, who has portrayed Buzz Lightyear since the original film nearly three decades ago, reflected on how deeply the experience continues to resonate with him. He said the process “really affected” him and described feeling “blessed to be in this wonderful space suit for so many years.”

Allen expressed gratitude toward the creative team at Pixar and noted how meaningful it has been to return to a character who has become iconic for generations of moviegoers. He also spoke about reconnecting with Buzz’s voice, admitting that the early recording sessions were “a struggle” before he eventually slipped back into the role with ease.

Toy Story 5 is slated for release on 19th June, 2026. The new film is expected to explore themes involving technology and its influence on Bonnie’s toys, introducing new challenges for the familiar characters. Allen has previously praised the script, calling it “very, very clever” and emphasizing that the film feels driven by creativity rather than commercial pressure.

He also hinted at the emotional core of the story, revealing that Buzz and Woody, voiced once again by Tom Hanks, will “realign” in the upcoming instalment. Additionally, Allen suggested that Jessie will play a significant role, pointing to a narrative that broadens the focus within the beloved ensemble.
