Three New Pacific Rim Posters

Frank Sinatra sung ‘send in the clowns’ in July next year the Human race will send in the Jaegers to protect us against the monsters known as the Kaijus in Guillermo Del Toro‘s Pacific Rim. In the we small hours of this morning Del Tor kept his word and delivered his promise of the first trailer this month but as we wind down today we finish with the film that kicked off today’s posts with 3 new posters.

To fight the monsters we created the monsters or giant robots better known as Jaegers and in these 2 posters and one poster banner we get a nice close look at those mighty saviours of our little planet. You could say looking at the posters have a big homage to the Japanese Kaiju (strange Beast) films of 1960’s through to the 1980’s like a love letter films that Del Toro grew up loving, like Godzilla. If your like me love a healthy dose of Japanese animation and Meccha cult series like Evegellion, Macross can be seen here, you could say the design of the robots looks a little like a giant Halo suit!

In Pacific Rim Earth has been decimated by the invasion of giant monsters called Kaiju but thanks to the military folks of planet Earth they have created a monster to fight the monsters, giant robots called Jaegers.

The film stars Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Rinko Kikuchi, Max Martini, Rob Kazinsky, Clifton Collins Jr., and Diego Klattenhoff. Pacific Rim will be arriving in UK&Ireland, USA12th July 2013.
