The film we all forgot about re-emerges from the depths of the sea as Thor battles Moby Dick as fights to survive the dangers in The Heart Of The Sea. After months getting that sinking feeling with new release date, a new UK trailer has arrived that shows that all is well and that sinking feeling has gone.

In The Heart of The Sea is directed by Oscar winner Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind) the action adventure based on Nathaniel Philbrickโ€™s best-selling book about the dramatic true journey of the Essex.

In the winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something no one could believe: a whale of mammoth size and will, and an almost human sense of vengeance. The real-life maritime disaster would inspire Herman Melvilleโ€™s Moby-Dick. But that told only half the story. โ€œIn the Heart of the Seaโ€ reveals the encounterโ€™s harrowing aftermath, as the shipโ€™s surviving crew is pushed to their limits and forced to do the unthinkable to stay alive. Braving storms, starvation, panic and despair, the men will call into question their deepest beliefs, from the value of their lives to the morality of their trade, as their captain searches for direction on the open sea and his first mate still seeks to bring the great whale down.

When a film is usually delayed like this one, it’s not usually a good sign however with the move from a Easter to Boxing day release date looks like it may work in its favour.ย Whilst many believe the delay is all down to cleaning up the VFX, it’s probably Warner Bros faith in the film and a push for Oscar Glory, which could be seen as a positive sign we have an exciting film to look forward too.Whilst this looks an epic adventure it will be one that will terrorize the crew physically but also mentally, perfect tonic to that Christmas hangover.

In The Heart Of The Sea will arrive in UK&Irish cinemas 26th December (USA 11th) starring Chris Hemsworth, Benjamin Walker, Tom Holland, Brendan Gleeson, Cillian Murphy, Ben Whishaw, and Jordi Molla.
