Klaus (2019)

This coming festive season, discover the unlikely friendship that launched a legend. Netflix in the past few years have launched many originals, now they release the trailer for their first animated feature…Klaus.

Before the big man comes there is Halloween, then it’s Christmas. It’s no surprise in October the festive celebrations are starting. No shock here as cards and wrapping paper are in shops since the Summer!

The film celebrates the origins of Santa Claus aka Old St.Nick. As Jesper (Jason Schwartzman) the postal academy’s worst student who is disgruntled. However things change for the good when he befriends the old toymaker who makes his own toys.

There’s something about the visual style of this film I do like. Might be a tad early for Christmas, this does have charm that attracts you. Probably the mix of traditional and digital animation, here’s hoping it delivers.

When Jesper (Jason Schwartzman) distinguishes himself as the postal academyโ€™s worst student, he is stationed on a frozen island above the Arctic Circle, where the feuding locals hardly exchange words let alone letters. Jesper is about to give up when he finds an ally in local teacher Alva (Rashida Jones), and discovers Klaus (Oscarยฎ winner J.K. Simmons), a mysterious carpenter who lives alone in a cabin full of handmade toys. These unlikely friendships return laughter to Smeerensburg, forging a new legacy of generous neighbors, magical lore and stockings hung by the chimney with care. An animated holiday comedy directed by Despicable Me co-creator Sergio Pablos,

KLAUS co-stars JK Simmons, Rashida Jones,Joan Cusack, Will Sasso and Norm Macdonald.

Netflixโ€™s first animated feature film KLAUS, from the co-creator of Despicable Me, will launch in select UK cinemas on 8th November and globally on Netflix on 15th November.
