“They speak of his power over the animals… Because his spirit came from them, he understood them.” finally we have the film’s ‘Conquer’ trailer which is regarded as the film’s final trailer which was released over the weekend. The trailer does provide a few more snippets of new footage but also highlighting Tarzan’s relationship with Jane his wife and of course the animals…
In The Legend Of Tarzan it has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left thejungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
The history of Tarzan on the big screen goes back a long long time, but so does our history of reinventing or remaking the same films over and over. So the challenge for The Legend of Tarzan is to deliver something different that the films before haven’t done. After his success in Harry Potter franchise David Yates might just be the man to do so, with Greystroke: Legend Of Tarzan, Lord of The Apes as his starting point, we might just have a fun film on our hands!
Co-Starring Samuel L. Jackson, John Hurt and Djimon Hounsou,The Legend Of Tarzan will be released in UK cinemas on 6th July 2016.
