The Infected Have Returned! First 28 Years Later Trailer Has Arrived!

Cillian Murphy returns as Jim

The infected return in 28 Years Later

Nearly 23 years after the infected arrived in 28 Days Later, they have returned! The long awaited 28 Years Later is 6 months away from cinemas and Sony Pictures Releasing have dropped the First UK Trailer.

I know can hear you say there was 28 Weeks Later in 2007, we know. This new film sees Cillian Murphy returning as Jim with Danny Boyle returning to direct plus Alex Garland on scripting duties.

In 28 Years Later the actual plot details are still slim. What we do know is the story will focus on a young boy who wants a doctor to help his mum, who takes them north.

The one thing you will notice, Jim is nowhere to be seen in this trailer. The focus is on the isolated community and Aaron Taylor-Johnsons character who is on a mission. It looks Jim’s return will be a ‘surprising return’ according to the film’s executive producer Tim Rothman.

We’re stoked to finally get a trailer after decades of gossip, rumours and now we have evidence it’s coming. So is 28 Years Later II: The Bone Temple, did we get a glimpse of that ‘temple’ in the trailer?

Academy Awardยฎ-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Awardยฎ-nominated writer Alex Garland reunite for 28 Years Later, a terrifying new story set in the world created by 28 Days Later. Itโ€™s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

28 Years Later will arrive in UK, Irish and US cinemas on 20th June 2025. Co-starring Jodie Comer, Ralph Fiennes, Jack O’Connell, Alfie Williams, Erin Kellyman, and Edvin Ryding.
