Dig or die if not the end will be nigh especially for Tom Cruise in the final Trailer for Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu‘s Digger.
Tom Cruise has starred in a diverse rage of films, this one looks his oddest. This wants to be 21st century Dr Strangelove, and it’s dark, satirical and absolute bonkers. Tonally and visually (DoP is Emmanuel Lubezki first time since The Revenant)
Mr Cruise is the man to keep us plunging into the chaos. Digger Rockwell has a plan and become humanity’s saviour before disaster strikes and we face ecological doom.
The Mission Impossible films showcased Cruise, his age is no barrier and embarrasses actors half his age. He’s the last of the big complete Hollywood superstar packages, he can deliver in anything he does. Critically may not always succeed, this is his weirdest and most absurd film to date. Compared to previous trailers this gives us a little more sense of what might be going on. Once again the apoclypse looks a mad mad world, which might annoy some political figures up the wrong way.

Digger will arrive in UK, Irish and U.S Cinemas from 2nd October.
