The Ancient Ones Arrive In Chloé Zhao’s The Eternals First Trailer

They have watched, they have guided and helped them progress, throughout the years we have never interfered, until now. Behold the ancient ones arrive as Marvel release the first trailer for Chloé Zhao‘s The Eternals!

We’ve been eager to get a glimpse from the minute the cast was announced a couple of years ago. Also throw in the fact the director is now an Oscar winning filmmaker whose made a name for herself in arthouse dramas. This film is new territory in genre, however a confident filmmaker will rise to the challenge.

The film marks the third film of Marvel’s Cinema Universe Phase 4 with Black Widow, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings the other two. This film is set around the celestial superheroes created by Comic book legend Jack Kirby that spans over thousands of years. They have lived among for centuries helping and shaping us over those years and this trailer highlights that. And the end of the teaser trailer reveals they return post Avengers: End Game with a joke about “Who will lead the Avengers?”

The scope of this film is huge, as these immortals superheroes influence affects all MCU films. Not forgetting their makers The Celestials whose name has already been mentioned in the MCU and their bitter rivals The Deviants. Visually this looks wonderful and hopefully the kick up the back side to stop this packed genre getting stagnant.

Marvel Studios’ “Eternals” welcomes an exciting new team of Super Heroes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The epic story, spanning thousands of years, features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants.

The outstanding ensemble cast includes Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harington plays Dane Whitman.

The Eternals will arrive in UK and Irish cinemas from 5th November.
