The American Trailer For Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy!

We’re only 6 days away from the UK&Irish release of John LeCarre’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier,Spy it’s now the turn of our American cousins to jump aboard the hype train as the Official USA Trailer has been unleashed! Arthouse classic Let The Right One In director Thomas Alfredson  is the man behind the lense here despite looking a slowburner the movie is certainly an intense old fashioned spy thriller based in the era to be a cool spy it had to be in the Cold War era, a time when paranoia ruled the roost. This new trailer released by the American distributor of the film focus features seems to borrow a little from Inception but who cares this movie is certified cool!

Any UK&Irish fans looking for anything different from the UK trailer, yes there is some new footage thrown in for good measure. So when’s it out? Friday 16th September for UK&Irish cinephiles, American cinephiles still a little way to go, December 9th, the movie stars the fantastic cast of Gary Oldman,Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Ciaran Hinds, John Hurt, Benedict Cumberbatch and Toby Jones! 

Set in the 1970s, TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY finds George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a recently retired MI6 agent, doing his best to adjust to a life outside the secret service. However, when a disgraced agent reappears with information concerning a mole at the heart of the Circus, Smiley is drawn back into the murky field of espionage. Tasked with investigating which of his trusted former colleagues has chosen to betray him and their country, Smiley narrows his search to four suspects – all experienced, urbane, successful agents – but past histories, rivalries and friendships make it far from easy to pinpoint the man who is eating away at the heart of the British establishment.

The screenplay is by Peter Straughan and Bridget O’Connor and the film, which was shot in London, Budapest and Istanbul is produced by Working Title’s co-chairmen Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner and Robyn Slovo. The executive producers are Debra Hayward, Liza Chasin, Douglas Urbanski, Peter Morgan, Olivier Courson, Ron Halpern and John le Carré.
