Tension Mounts In New Red Band Trailer For Lawless

2 weeks ago we had a second UK trailer for John Hillcoat’s bootlegging depression era film Lawless tonight it’s the turn of American promotion with a new red band trailer. It’s a last minute trailer as the film arrives in U.S August 29th , 9 days before we get it here in the UK&Ireland, the trailer contains a lot of what we’ve seen in the trailers that have been and gone though we have some nudity and the violence looks to have been cranked up a little. It seems these days with 12A’s dominating market it’s become traditional for a film to prove its a film for adults which Lawless is, what the trailer does do is give you a better indication of dangerous times the film is set in, brutal and at times bloody, intense.

Lawless is based on the Novel The Wettest County In The World based on a true story Prohibition-era tale about the Bondurant brothers (played by Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf and Jason Clarke) ,a bootlegging gang in USA’s South creating a dynasty that even the local police want in on the game. It’s all about power, wealth, greed, abuse of power

So has Shia LaBeouf finally grown up lost his ‘Transformers’ tag and finally starring something more sophisticated or will we have to wait until he gets his bits out for Lars Von Trier when his tries his hand at arthouse? One thing we will say is Tom Hardy may not be lead in this film but once again it looks like he may prove his worth as one of Hollywood’s best young actors. Lawless will be arrivingr in UK&Ireland September 7th (USA August 29th) starring also , Gary Oldman , Jessica Chastain, Guy Pearce, Mia Wasikowska , Noah Taylor, Dene Dehaan!
