The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Remake To Get Sequel

Cowabunga Dudes those heroes in a half shell The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may not have arrived on UK shores but on the opening weekend in US Paramount announce a sequel will be in the works.
As the Americans embrace the CGI Heavy Michael Bay produced remake of the cult kids cartoon cum live action adventure it slices it’s away to the top of the box office. It’s the best opening of any Turtles film in the franchise history, raking in around ยฃ65 million knocking the Star Lord and the Guardians of The Galaxy off the top spot.
Despite the film getting critically ripped apart (about 9% in Rottentomatoes)it’s hardly a surprise a that a sequel will be made as most blockbusters Bay has made or produced usually are cash cows.Writers Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec will once again write the sequel’s script which now has an 3rd June 2016 release date penciled in. As for director Jonathan Liebesman there is no news if he’ll return to direct however Planinum Dunes and Michael Bay will produce.
Paramount Film Group‘s president Adam Goodman said “Launching a new take on the Turtles into the feature film world was a daunting task because as fans of them ourselves, we felt a great responsibility to ensure audiences were going to experience everything they loved about the Turtles, while also getting to see them brought to life in a way they had never been seen before,The result exceeded our high expectations and the response to the film is beyond great, making it all the more fun to get started on the continuation of their story.”
