It feels more like April fools day when film studio’s fool the film fans with their obnoxious teaser for a upcoming teaser trailer last week it was Sony Pictures with Len Wiseman’s TOTAL RECALL but late last night the teasing was over when the full trailer was released! The question is, is it a remake of Arnold Schwarzenegger film of the 1990’s or Len Wiseman’s own adaptation of Philip K Dick’s  We Can Remember it For You Wholesale?  Whatever way it asks the question has Hollywood ran out of ideas? Has all the money been wasted terrible overpriced 3D crap so 2d films suffer we’re now subjected to pathetic remakes such as The Leprechaun and Child’s Play more films that you can’t see why they have to be remade !

Now for the film in question Colin Farrell plays Douglas Quid a factory worker who dreams of one day becoming a spy, heads over to Rekall a company that offers virtual holidays by installing virtual memories so you can experience that dream. During Douglas visit things go wrong and he ends up been implanted with someone else’s memory which finds himself becoming a hunted man.

Total Recall looks like the action is the main focus here, no Mars based storyline more like Farrell going back to old roots in a Minority Report style on the run film with the Irish actor in Tom Cruises shoes now. Not saying this film wont be good or not, I’m finding it hard to actually pinpoint what new this film will bring as we really don’t get a good look at the true story here, there’s even a glimpse of Bryan Cranston, however blink you’ll miss him!

Total Recall 2012 also stars Jessica Bielโ€‹ (Melina), Bill Nighy(Kuato)โ€‹,Kate Beckinsale, Ethan Hawkโ€‹e, Bokeem Woodbine, and Bryan Cranstonโ€‹ (Chancellor Cohaagen). Total Recall will be out August 22nd in UK&Ireland.

*April 4th UPDATE – A big thanks to Sony PicturesFor sending us the UK Version of the trailer*

Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story โ€œWe Can Remember It For You Wholesaleโ€ by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though heโ€™s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life โ€“ real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police โ€“ controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world โ€“ Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.
