This December Another generation’s ‘legend’ will arrive in that galaxy far far away. Today at Star Wars Celebrations fans got an unexpected surprise, Star Wars Episode 9 title Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker. Not just a title but the first Trailer!!!
It was a day of surprises at Star Wars Celebration for the enthusiastic fans in attendance as the title of the final instalment of the Skywalker saga. Four years ago JJ Abrams unveiled the new trilogy’s first film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was received with great excitement. Two years ago Star Wars: The Last Jedi became one of the franchises most divisive films. It split the fans majority did like the film but it left a toxic environment some unforgiving to Rian Johnson did, others loving every minute.
Now that final film in the latest trilogy has it’s first promo, many will be hoping fans will reunite again. A two minute trailer that reveals nothing, but then again it’s a JJ Abrams film. He reveals nothing including the film’s synopsis and if he can he may not reveal that altogether or at the very last minute. What we can say is the title suggests that Skywalker saga has at least one more story to tell. A new clan of Skywalkers?
The one thing about The Last Jedi was the treatment of Luke Skywalker story. If we go by this film’s title Luke and Leila may get the fitting farewell they deserve. Could this title suggest Rey maybe connected to Skywalker in some way after all?
After the death of Han Solo, Chewie has felt a little out of it, missing his oldest friend. This trailer does reveal return of Millennium Falcon original owner and original franchise character Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams)!!!
There is the usual gossip and rumours now flooding the internet with potential return of the Emperor. There is also the small matter of return of the Death Star! Still gossip but if true interesting how they will bring both back!
It will be a cast of many which includes Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Kelly Marie Tran,Anthony Daniels, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Billie Lourd, Dominic Monaghan, Richard E. Grant, Matt Smith, Joonas Suotamo, Naomi Ackie, and Keri Russell.
We do hope Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker mends those burnt bridges reunites the fanbase and hopefully that day will be 19th December in the UK and Ireland (20th December in the USA).
