Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods Trailer Search For The ‘Fallen’

Da 5 Bloods (2020)

Next month Spike Lee will be loving the smell of ‘fresh napalm in the morning‘ when his next film, Da 5 Bloods arrives on Netflix. Today the streaming giants have released the film’s official Trailer as four African American Vets return to Vietnam to search for their fallen comrade.

The film stars Delroy Lindo, Clarke Peters,Norm Lewis and Isiah Whitlock Jr as the four Vets. Heading back to Ho Chih Minh city as older men for their squad leader (played by Chadwick Boseman)remains. But the treasure that was buried during the war.

As expected Spike Lee is a filmmaker with a lot to say and best he does that is through the medium of film. Vietnam War films might be ten a penny but kudos to Lee attempting to put his own spin on the film. From the story to the aspect ratio of the film itself. The modern day scenes in widescreen and the War scenes in a 4:3 Aspect, reflecting film of the era.

We know the talent Spike Lee has, we were just frustrated it took him so long to replicate what we loved about his films. Will Da 5 Bloods match BlackKklansman in quality? We hope so!

From Academy Award® Winner Spike Lee comes a New Joint: the story of four African-American Vets — Paul (Delroy Lindo), Otis (Clarke Peters), Eddie (Norm Lewis), and Melvin (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.) — who return to Vietnam. Searching for the remains of their fallen Squad Leader (Chadwick Boseman) and the promise of buried treasure, our heroes, joined by Paul’s concerned son (Jonathan Majors), battle forces of Man and Nature — while confronted by the lasting ravages of The Immorality of The Vietnam War.

The film cast also includes Mélanie Thierry, Paul Walter Hauser, Jasper Pääkkönen, Johnny Trí Nguyen, Van Veronica Ngo and Jean Reno.

Da 5 Bloods will launch on Netflix globally including the UK and Ireland from 12th June.
