Sonic The Hedgehog First Trailer Goes Fast! Mind The Teeth!

With Pokemon: Detective Pikachu only days away from its UK Cinematic release what better time to unveil the first Trailer of another video game character film...Sonic The Hedgehog.

With the gossip stating Pikachu might be finally the first video game film adaptation, could Sega’s old school hero replicate that potential critical success? Off course no reviews for that film are out yet are we ready for another live action adaptation?

In the first look at the film you’ve gotta go fast as the promo teases some classic hijinks which will please hardcore fans. We also get a look at the film’s iconic villain Dr.Robotnik (Jim Carrey) looking like a hipster Hercule Poirot. Our little flurry speedster is voiced by Ben Schwartz who befriends cop played by James Marsden who join forces to stop Dr.Robotnik.

The early buzz after watching this trailer is very mixed (us included). Sonic himself looks a bit of an oddball, what’s with the human looking pair of teeth? It’s only the first trailer like Pokemon film we may yet grow to love this one…

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega that centres on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.

The film also stars Tika Sumpter, Natasha Rothwell, Neal McDonough, and Adam Pally.

Sonic The Hedgehog doesn’t have an exact UK or Irish release date just yet. December time has been a release time we’ve heard, which might be a possibility as November 11th is the U.S release date.
